Thera Travel ("Thera", "we", "us") operates this treatment-comparison service for people in the UK considering medical or dental treatment abroad. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

• Enquiry details you submit: name, email, phone, treatment of interest, preferred destination, timeline, budget band, and the clinic(s) you asked us to contact.
• Soft sign-ups: if you ask us to email you a comparison or clinic details, we collect your email address only.
• Usage data: pages viewed, referral source and UTM parameters, collected via analytics to improve the service.

We do not ask for, or want you to submit, detailed medical history or health records through this website. Please share clinical details directly with a clinic once introduced.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To introduce you to clinics (the core service): when you request quotes, we share your enquiry with up to three vetted partner clinics so they can contact you. Lawful basis: your explicit consent, given via the consent checkbox at the point of enquiry.
• To email you comparisons/updates you requested: lawful basis: consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To operate and improve the service (analytics, fraud prevention): lawful basis: legitimate interests.

4. Who we share it with

When you submit a quote request, we share your enquiry details with the specific clinic(s) you selected and/or up to three vetted partner clinics matched to your treatment and destination. Each partner clinic is itself a data controller for the information we pass to them and is bound by a data-processing agreement with us. We never sell your data, and we never share it with clinics you have not asked us to contact. We also use service providers (e.g. form hosting, email delivery, analytics) who process data on our behalf under contract.

5. Clinics contacting you

Partner clinics will only contact you after you have consented to an introduction. They will contact you directly using the details you provided. If a clinic contacts you without your consent, please tell us and we will investigate.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiry data is retained for up to 24 months to manage introductions, quality and billing with clinics, then deleted or anonymised. Soft sign-up emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained per our analytics provider's standard retention.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your data, to withdraw consent at any time, and to data portability. To exercise any right, email hello@theratravel.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).

8. Clinic listings & corrections

Clinic profiles on this site are compiled from our own research and public sources, including publicly available Google ratings and reviews (shown with attribution and refreshed periodically). If you represent a listed clinic and wish to correct or remove information, email clinic@theratravel.co.uk and we will respond within five working days.

We use analytics cookies to understand how the service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date shows the latest version.
